The centerpiece of this necklace is a quartz disk found in Mali with a likely date range from Neolithic times to 1,000 AD. The reddish quartz beads are from the same time and place, and are increasingly rare. They have the characteristic cone shaped holes resulting from the hand drilling methods used since Neolithic times in northern Africa.
Strung with modern landscape jasper, red tiger eye and gold-filled beads, wire and bail. The chain and clasp are PermaGold, a highly durable 24 kt gold plate. length: 18"
